An airBaltic plane has slipped off the runway at Riga International Airport (RIX), Latvia during a landing in severe snowfall.
The incident happened on December 3, 2021. The aircraft involved in the incident was an Airbus A220-300 which was making the flight BT102 from Stockholm, Sweden (ARN) to Riga, Latvia (RIX).
Edgars Rinkēvičs, the foreign minister of Latvia, posted pictures of the incident on Twitter.
“There were no injuries, and all 44 passengers were safely transported to the terminal and the aircraft will be towed to the hangar for inspection,” airBaltic announced in a social media post.
An investigation is being carried out and more information about the incident will be updated by the authorities later on.
