A couple of days ago I made an “Ask Me A Question” on my Instagram and now prepare the answers for you guys 🙂 Sorry I couldn’t manage to answer all questions… I got over 80. Anyways, thank you very much for your interest and love, and I hope you’ll enjoy the Q&A. So let’s go…
Question – Have you ever flew to Malaysia?
No, I have never been to Malaysia, but will visit it in the nearest future.
Question – Where can I buy your t-shirts?
The donation is closed already. These t-shirts were made just for this purpose, so, it’s already too late to buy them.
Question – Where did you study aviation?
My flight school was Royal Jordanian Air Academy, in Amman Jordan.
Question – Are you single?
Yes, I’m single, never been married, and have no children. But one day I will make a family, I just have to find the right person 🙂
Question – Where did you do your pilot license training, at which company did you start?
I started it at Royal Jordanian Airlines.Â
Question – What did you do to get more flight hours before your training and how much time did it take to get the job?
I was lucky, right after I graduated from the academy, which took me almost 2 years to study, I was a offered a job at Royal Jordanian Airlines. There they gave me training on the Airbus A320.
Question – Can you explain how does the reverse engine work?
Well, very briefly, by reversing the forward thrust into backward thrust by opening doors aside of engine. That moves the thrust, so it’s directed forward rather than backward.
Question – Are there any chances for a commercial pilot with low flight hours to get a job at the airlines?
Yes, there is always a chance. Either your country trains you as a local in specific programs, or if the airlines need pilots, they open recruitment for pilots who have even 0 flight hours to go and have training.
Question – Do you miss Airbus A320?
Yes, I miss it a lot, as it is my first airplane and the first love. And the first love is always special 🙂
Question – Will you come to Chicago?
Yes, I will come to Chicago soon.
Question – Any suggestions for an aeronautical engineer?
I’m not an engineer, but again for achieving something, study hard, keep your positive attitude, self-educated, and love what you do.

Knowledge, attitude, and handling.
Question – Can you advise for any flight school in Europe?

Question – What is your favorite food?
Traditional Jordanian one called Mansaf. I love it. But also I like sushi and Italian cuisine.
Question – What are the requirements for the pilots?
You have to have good health to meet the medical requirements, pass the psychometric test, have basic knowledge of subjects such as mathematics, physics and also pass the exams that are given by the flight academy. You have to have the right attitude too 🙂
Question – What’s the difference between low-cost airlines and regular airlines?
Well, safety should not be compromised, but perhaps the lifestyle of low-cost airlines’ pilots are less luxurious, they fly more, and they don’t get those benefits that regular airlines’ pilots get like tickets, travel benefit, health insurance, layovers…
Most low-cost airline pilots don’t have layovers as they mostly do turn around flights.

Question – Some good advice for the pilots to be in the mid-thirties?
Simply: focus, finish your study as soon as possible, and try to find a job again as quickly as possible. Don’t ever lose hope; it’s never too late.
Question – Did you read a lot during your pilot training? I’m considering to become a pilot
It depends on how good you want to be. If you’re going to be a good pilot, you have to READ!

When I’ll find the right person 🙂
Question – How can I become a pilot if I have a low budget?
Work, work, and again, work. This will help you to save money for your studies.
Question – What is your most treasured memory?
Such a lovely question by the way. My most treasured memory was when I became a captain, and my father put 4 stripes on my shoulders, my mom, and the whole family was very happy. Also, I recall that it was a fantastic feeling when I flew with my dad as a first officer.
Question – How did you get upgraded so quickly to a captain of Airbus A350? How many hours did you have?
I had 11.000 hours 🙂 But this is my company’s policy, they transferred me, because I met the requirements, and as long as I meet these requirements, I fly Airbus A350.
Question – Tattoo in aviation?
It depends on the airline; some companies allow having tattoos; some don’t.
Question – What was your motivation for becoming a captain?
I wanted to become a pilot, and my inspiration was my dad, who was a pilot himself. But now my motivation as a PilotAmireh is to be a good pilot always.
Question – How do you recognize dangerous storms on A350?
It is the same advanced weather system inside the airplane that detects the storms. We are trained to know the intensity, and at different altitudes, we can decide the severity of the thunderstorm.
Question – Do you think it’s hard to have a family and kids and be a pilot at the same time?
Not at all, my father is a captain, and we are 5 living a normal life. For me, it’s not a reason for not getting married, and I am not married, because I don’t find that special ONE yet 🙂
Question – Which airport do you love the most for landing and taking off?
I like to land in Beirut, Lebonan, and I like to take off in Geneva, Switzerland, because of the beautiful mountainous view.
Question – Did you ever have an aborted take-off or landing?
No, never! I’m lucky 🙂
Question – Is physics an important subject to become a pilot?

If you feel happy inside the company, then it’s the best one for you.
Question – How many times a week do you workout?
As much as I can, if I’m able to workout 5 times a week, I go for it.  If I workout, it takes about an hour.
Question – Which country is the best for you?
I like all the countries, and each country is unique. So there is no the best country for me, all are good.
Question – At what age did you start studying aviation?
When I was 18, and after almost 2 years, I became the first officer.
Question – Have you ever consider visiting Colombia?
Yes, it’s on my list. I heard so many positive reviews about this country.

Question – What do you do to keep fit and pass class 1 medical certificate?
To be fit is different from passing the class 1 medical. You have to play sport, watch out your food to be healthy. To pass the medical, you have to care about your lifestyle, for example, do not smoke, care about your sight, hearing, and just keep a healthy lifestyle.
Question – How much time do you spend to get prepared before your flight?
1 hour and 15 minutes, this is how much we spend to prepare the flight.
Question – What kind of phone do you use for taking pictures?
I use iPhone X and Huawei P30 Pro and also professional full dimensional cameras.
Question – What is your furthest destination?
For now, Australia, and after the USA.
Question – When will you come to Paris with your beautiful A350?

Question – Do you feel lonely being away from your family?

Question – If you ever would like to fly a Boeing aircraft, which one will you choose to fly?
Nice question 🙂 that would be Boeing 777.
Question – How can passengers take pictures of the cockpit?
Most of the airlines do not allow to do that.
Question – When some planes fly, there is white gas left behind, but this doesn’t happen at all flights, why?
This is because of water vapor condenses. Water vapor contained in the jet exhaust condenses and may freeze depending on the temperature. If it is not frozen, it won’t make clouds.
Question – Why don’t you speak Arabic?
Well, because English is a universal language, most of the world speaks English. So, I have to talk to the world 🙂
